East Looe is approximately 20 miles west from Plymouth, being situated on the A387 which runs from Trerulefoot and Polperro.

From the east, the easiest route is to follow the M5 to its last junction (31), just past Exeter, and then follow the A38 to Plymouth. Keeping on this road you will reach and cross the Tamar Bridge. Continue along the A38 for approximately 10 miles until you reach a roundabout just past a low railway bridge at Trerulefoot. Turn left towards Looe for about ¾ mile, when there is a right hand turn signposted to Looe on the A387. At Widegates bear left onto the B3253 signposted Looe (you appear to carry on the same road) and continue until reaching a T junction opposite the river. Then turn left into Looe itself.
From the north and west, it is probably easiest to head for Liskeard, take the A38 towards Plymouth. Then turn right onto the B3252, and right again onto the A387 near Widegates which will take you straight into Looe. There are other routes to Looe from the west, so please take one of these if you know them.
There is no parking at Killarney, the best long stay car park is known as the Millpool (no 3 on map), which is situated over the bridge in West Looe. See map overleaf. Killarney can be found on Shutta Road, opposite the bridge. From the car park, follow the signs to the town, which take you back across the bridge. Approx. 400 yards after the bridge, on the left, you will find Barclays Bank. Turn left here into Shutta Road and Killarney is 400 yards up the hill on the right. This hill is very steep and if any students have mobility problems we suggest a taxi. If this creates problems please chat to us and we will see what help we can offer.
From the Station, cross the main road take the road next to the Globe, turning right into Shutta Road where Killarney (course centre) can be found approx ¾ mile on the left. Again the hill is steep.
There is a Railway Station in Looe which is conveniently situated less than 1 mile from Killarney. You will need to change at Liskeard to connect with the Looe branch lines, with Liskeard station being on the main Plymouth / Penzance line. Plymouth can be reached from a number of main line stations, and some trains from the north and east will go on to Liskeard. Please check details with National Rail Enquiries on 08457 484950.
A cheaper alternative is to take a coach, with the closest drop point being Liskeard. Please telephone National Express on 0990 808080 for detail or routes, times and cost. There is a regular local bus service from Liskeard to Looe.
